I am trying to do the expedition as low cost as possible.  To that end, I intend to ride my GT mountain bike that I’ve had for about 15 years, and all the clothes that I don’t already have shall come from the thrift store.  I actually prefer to have a used bike and gear as that reduces my chances of having my stuff picked off.

Thank you so very much to all of you who have helped make this journey possible! Thanks to your generosity I was able to acquire all that I needed to launch! Now that I’m on the road, I have realized a few more items that I am needing:

• I could use a light-weight waterproof (like really) 2-person dome tent (both my Big Agnus tent from the used sale at REI and my old Eureka tent have failed (I’m still using my Eureka one for now).
• Toe cages to add to my bike pedals
• 2 Small pannier covers
